Kings Hammer Launches Goalkeepers’ Union led by Louis Liberatore

COVINGTON, KY (December 8, 2021) Kings Hammer Soccer Club is excited to launch the Kings Hammer Goalkeepers’ Union led by the Kings Hammer Director of Goalkeeping, Louis Liberatore. The GK Union will provide goalkeepers in the Cincinnati and Ohio Valley Region a preeminent goalkeeper training and educational environment. The GK Union will build upon the concept of a team within a team that is prevalent within the soccer and goalkeeping communities worldwide.

A specific GK Curriculum and Methodology will be used that is directly linked to the Kings Hammer Core Values, Game Model, and Playing Philosophy to create a pathway for all the GKs within the Kings Hammer GK Union to develop, grow, and support one another. The GK Union will create an environment that mirrors our team and age-group training programs that rely on the three pillars of cooperative, competitive, and having fun.

The Kings Hammer GK Union will link our locations not only through a shared curriculum and methodology, which will provide a common GK language but also through GK education events based on topics difficult to cover in training sessions. Additionally, there will be GK-Clinic Days and opportunities for GKs from the Premier locations to train and experience the Academy level. It will also allow for the further and continuing education of our GK Coaches and Team Coaches about ways to better incorporate GKs into training to coincide with the skillsets being learned at GK training. The GK Union will provide a destination for GKs and GK Coaches with our GK-Specific camps that will expand to provide more training opportunities for older GKs, not just our U8-U14s.

The long-term vision of the Kings Hammer GK Union is to create a destination for GKs that is cooperative, competitive, and fun. We want former Kings Hammer GKs to return home during the off-season from college or pro environments to train, coach our current GKs, and one day return to work within the club because once a part of the Union always a part of the Union.

Liberatore has extensive coaching experience, most recently with the Tennessee Soccer Club, as its Director of Goalkeeping. He also formerly worked as an assistant goalkeeper coach for the Orlando Pride of the National Women's Soccer League. He possesses the USSF National B License, the NSCAA/United Soccer Coaches Advanced National GK Diploma, and the Scottish FA Goalkeeping Coaching Award (1.3).

"I am extremely excited to see the Kings Hammer GK Union coming to life. Louis has hit the ground running since he arrived at the club earlier this year already putting his mark on our GK program. The introduction of the GK Union will be the next big step in making Kings Hammer the ideal destination for all aspiring goalkeepers in this region," said Paul Nicholson, Kings Hammer Technical Director.

"I am very excited to be launching the Kings Hammer GK Union. This program highlights the importance of the goalkeeper position within the game and our club’s commitment to our goalkeepers and goalkeepers in the region! We have assembled a great coaching staff and I'm looking forward to helping them grow as coaches as we help our goalkeepers develop." said Louis Liberatore. "I’m looking forward to my first camp at Kings Hammer as it coincides with the launching of our GK Union. It will be a great first step in creating a destination for goalkeepers, come grow with us!"
