Premier SuperCopa Rule Modifications

*Please note these rule modifications are only for Premier SuperCopa qualifying groups. All other Blue Chip Invitational rules will govern the Premier SuperCopa divisions except stated below. 

Registration

Team check-in/registration will be through GotSoccer prior to the designated date listed on the website.

A. US Teams Check-in/Registration Requirements

  1. Copy of official roster; either USYS State Association or US Club Soccer 
  2. Copy of Guest Player Roster (if applicable)
    • Roster provided by team's state association or
    • Roster provided by tournament
  3. Permission to Travel paperwork
    • Not required for US Club Soccer teams
    • Required for all USYS teams that are not from Ohio South
  4. Copies of player/coach passes; either USYS State Association or US Club Soccer
    • Copies of player passes for guest players if applicable
    • Originals may be requested by referees prior to each game
  5. Copy of Coach Concussion Certificate pursuant to Ohio's "Return to Play" law - O.R.C. 3707 (C)(1)

B. For a team coming from any other nation: 

  1. Players must present passports at registration or, if from a nation that the United States does not require a passport, proof of entry into the United States that is required by the United States
  2. Teams are required to have and present player picture identification cards
  3. If required, the team shall have a completed form from its Provincial or National Association approving the team's participation in the tournament

Premier SuperCopa Qualifying Group Selection

  1. The top division in each age group U9-U12 boys and girls will be the Premier SuperCopa Qualifying Group or PSQ Group
  2. A minimum of 4 and a maximum of 16 teams will be selected for the Premier SuperCopa Qualifying Divisions. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to create PSQ Groups based on the level of competition in each group
  3. Team selection will be determined on team history and background information listed in the GotSoccer team applications
  4. Teams not selected for the Premier SuperCopa Qualifying will be placed in gold, silver, or bronze divisions based on level

Scoring System

Scoring system for preliminary (pool) games will be as follows (NOTE: Pool play games may end in a tie. Overtime only applies to semi-finals and finals):

  • 3 points for a win
  • 1 point for a tie
  • 0 points for a loss

Tie Breakers

  1. Head to head
  2. Goal differential (max 4 goals per game)
  3. Goals against
  4. Goals for
  5. Most shut-outs
  6. Penalty shoot-out (hosted at first field available as determined by the tournament director)

If three or more teams are tied, the criteria are followed from 1 through 5 until one team is eliminated and then the criteria will start over again at rule #2. Rules are repeated until one team remains. The decision of the tournament director shall be final on all questions regarding advancement.

Champions/Finalists Premier SuperCopa Qualifying

  1. Champions and finalists of the Premier SuperCopa qualifying divisions will receive a team trophy and medals as part of the Blue Chip Invitational
  2. Players on Championship teams will each receive a Premier SuperCopa t-shirt
  3. Champions of the Premier SuperCopa qualifying divisions at U9-U12 boys and girls will gain automatic qualification to the 2021 Premier SuperCopa National Event
  4. Teams who qualify for the 2021 Premier SuperCopa National Event must follow registration guidelines set forth by Premier SuperCopa
  5. If the Championship team decides not to participate in the 2021 Premier SuperCopa National Event, Premier SuperCopa reserves the right to select a replacement team
