Frequently Asked Questions
The introduction of the Center of Excellence Winter Training Program means that the club will be transitioning away from our traditional winter training option, Volta. We feel that our new program will not only provide a fantastic option for our players looking to continue to play throughout the winter months, it is also one that will follow the clubs on field principles of play and help the players as they transition back to their team environment during the Spring season.
The club will still be hosting the Volta tournaments see below for details.
No problem, we will create appropriate teams based on age and skill level.
We will still be hosting our Volta Futsal tournament, but we will not have our traditional Volta training program.
Training will consist of 3 parts 1) a technical component that players will learn new skills and moves to use in a real game. 2) a transition focused practice that teaches the players the kings hammer key principles when we win or lose possession. 3) a small sided game that will focus primarily on the attacking and defending phases of the game.
Although we will sort players based on age and skill level, training sessions will focus on individual actions within the team environment. Trainers will work with small groups to accomplish the goals of the training session.
