Union, KY — November 6th, 2025 — The Matthew Mangine Jr. “One Shot” Foundation and Kings Hammer Soccer Club are proud to announce a new partnership dedicated to advancing athlete safety and ensuring players and coaches perform at the highest level within a safe and prepared environment. This initiative honors the legacy of Matthew Mangine Jr., who tragically passed away from sudden cardiac arrest during soccer practice, by ensuring families across Kings Hammer never face the same unimaginable loss.

Through this partnership, Kings Hammer is implementing a comprehensive safety program that includes:

  • Take10 Hands-Only CPR Training: All Kings Hammer coaches will receive Take10  training, a simple, 10-minute program that ensures they are ready to respond in the event of a cardiac emergency.
  • AED Access & Availability: Kings Hammer is committed to promoting AED accessibility across all practice and game facilities, and to supporting coaches with mobile AED units when needed.
  • Venue-Specific Emergency Action Plans: Tailored EAPs will be developed for every venue and will be made easily accessible to both coaches and parents through the PlayMetrics app.

“We are committed to ensuring that every family is spared the unimaginable loss of a child,” said Matt Mangine, Co-Founder of the Matthew Mangine Jr. “One Shot” Foundation. “By partnering with Kings Hammer, we are equipping their entire soccer community with the tools, training, and planning needed to respond when seconds matter most.”

At Kings Hammer, nothing is more important than the safety and well-being of our players,” said Chris Peterman, CEO of Kings Hammer Soccer Club. “This partnership with the One Shot Foundation not only strengthens our commitment to supporting our athletes, but also builds a culture of preparedness and care that extends far beyond the field. From our first meeting with Matt and Kim, this initiative became our top priority.  This is a non-negotiable and our partnership will drive to make this the standard across youth soccer and youth sports across the nation.  This partnership reflects a shared commitment to preparedness, access, and lifesaving training. Kings Hammer is one of the first youth soccer organizations in the region to implement such a wide-reaching safety program, setting an example for clubs nationwide. The initiative will serve thousands of players and families across Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Florida.”
