Crown Challenge 2023

Welcome to the Crown Challenge!

Crown Challenge Teams,

On behalf of Kings Hammer Soccer Club, we would like to welcome you to Cincinnati for the 2023 Crown Challenge. We are looking forward to a fun and competitive weekend of soccer!

The Crown Challenge is a unique event that specifically designed for all “B”, “C” & “D” level teams from throughout the United States and Canada. Over 350 teams participate in the Crown Challenge each year. This event will be held at two main locations to minimize in-between game travel as well as facilitate coaches’ schedules. The goal of the Crown Challenge is to provide a fun, competitive weekend of spring soccer for a wide range of skill levels and ages.

In this guide, you will find all the information you need for this year’s event including links to schedules, facility maps, and local area attractions to visit while you are in town. Please take a moment to look through the guide. We also ask that you forward this link to all of your players and families, so they have this information for the weekend. The link is mobile friendly as well so they can pull it up on their phone and refer to it throughout the event.

Thank you for choosing the Crown Challenge! We are excited about the great competition this year and look forward to hosting your team in Cincinnati!

Parking

Warren County Sports Park: Parking at the Warren County Sports Park is on a first come basis. We encourage everyone to review your field locations and the park map in advance and plan to enter the park at the gate closest to your location. If you are playing on Fields 1-4, enter at Gate 1 (1408 St. Rt. 741, Lebanon, OH 45036); Fields 5-12 should enter at Gate 2 (1408 St. Rt. 741, Lebanon, OH 45036); Turf Fields enter at Gate 3 or 4 (3021 Greentree Rd., Lebanon, OH 45036). Plan to give yourself extra time for entering the complex and to find a spot as delays will occur.  Player drop-off on Rt. 741 or Greentree Rd. is strictly prohibited.

Voice of America: Please note that Voice of America Park has a new parking pass process. Please share this with everyone on your team to expedite receiving your pass when you arrive onsite. Everyone must purchase a pass and all passes must be purchased onsite at the event. There is no longer an option to purchase online in advance. Both cash and credit will be accepted. Passes are $8 per day or $15 for the weekend. Cars may enter from Cox Rd or Butler Warren Road for this event. Since this is a new process, the park is anticipating some delays and hiccups. They ask for your patience and will work to get people their passes as quickly as possible. At no time may players exit cars and head to fields as this becomes a safety issue.  To see a map of the complex, please click here.

Team Check-In

Since team check-in took place online in advance, you do not need to check-in when you arrive at the fields.  However, please make sure to bring your player cards to each game.

Player Gift

Please have one representative from your team (coach/manager) stop by the white HQ tent at Voice of America Park (located on the back side of the UC Field House) or Warren County Sports Park (located near concessions), or the black Nike Kings Hammer tent at Lebanon Sports Park (McClure) to pick up the player gift.

Athletic Trainers

Trainers will be located at Voice of America Park and Warren County Sports Park throughout the weekend in case your child needs to be evaluated for an injury.

If there are no athletic trainers at your location, please feel free to have your athlete seen by the Athletic training staff at the nearest facility where we have on-site staff.

Awards

Awards will be given to the champion and finalist in each division following each Championship match. Please send one representative to the HQ tent at WCSP (located near field 6), VOA (located on the back side of the UC Fieldhouse) or McClure (black Nike Kings Hammer tent) to pick up your medals. If you are in a group of five, the top two teams will receive medals. Please stop by the HQ/Volunteer tent to see if you finished 1st or 2nd. If we are not yet able to determine this based on other games in your group still going on, we will notify you and mail you your medals if you placed 1st or 2nd in the division.

Weather Updates

In the event of inclement weather, we will update our website with details on the field status.  If anything changes from a weather or field standpoint for the weekend we will inform all Coaches and Team Managers as listed in the GotSport system. Please make sure to update your team contact information if you have not already done so.
